SMWC Hosts Midway For Annual Homecoming Showdown

SAINT MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College sprint football team returns home unbeaten for its annual Homecoming Game, set for Saturday, October 4, at 3 p.m. (ET) against Midway (Ky.) at Jay Barrett Field.

Fans can catch the action live on the Indiana Sports Network and on WNDI 95.3 FM with legendary broadcaster John Montgomery on the call. Live stats will also be available through SMWC Athletics.
Series History
  • SMWC is 5–0 all-time against Midway.

Unbeaten and Rolling
The Pomeroys (3–0, 3–0 MSFL) enter Homecoming fresh off a 63–6 rout of Oakland City, a performance that featured scoring in all three phases of the game. SMWC has now outscored opponents 164–69 this season, averaging 54.7 points per game.

Explosive Starts
  • Jason Rucker opened the Oakland City game with an 85-yard kickoff return touchdown just 14 seconds in.
  • QB Jeremiah Tosky connected twice with WR Corbyn Cleveland in the first half, including a 35-yard strike, to fuel a 42–6 halftime lead.
Balanced Offense
  • Tosky: 11-of-18, 131 yards, 2 TDs vs. Oakland City; now at 4,705 career passing yards and 46 TDs, just four shy of 50 career touchdowns.

Homecoming Spotlight
Head coach Blaine Powell has guided the Pomeroys to three straight MSFL championship game appearances, including the 2022 league title and 2024 outright regular-season championship. With a 23–4 career record, Powell's team is once again aiming for postseason contention, backed by a deep roster and championship experience.
