OAKLAND CITY, Ind. - The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC) softball team (16-14) split with Oakland City University (5-17) yesterday. Summer Rocha lead the team to a game one win by tossing seven innings of 3-hit ball. SMWC would attempt to pull out the win in game two after falling behind 4-1 but would settle for a split with Oakland City.
Game #29 | at Oakland City University | W 7-2
The Pomeroys would have a strong day at the plate as they registered 13 hits and struck out only two times throughout game one. SMWC cruises two a 7-2 win over OCU and moves to 16-13 on the season.
Pomeroy Player-of-the-Game: Summer Rocha, who turned in another strong pitching performance by allowing just 3 hits and 2 runs over 7.0 innings.
Game #30 | at Oakland City University | L 3-4
SMWC would strike first in the 4th but OCU's three runs in the bottom of the inning would give them the lead. The Pomeroys would try to rally in the top of the 7th, adding two, but it wouldn't be enough and they would have to settle for the split.
