Duke Named RSC Softball Player Of The Week After Monster Performance At The Plate

SAINT MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. – Bailey Duke of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College has been named the River States Conference Softball Player of the Week following a dominant stretch at the plate for the Pomeroys.

Duke, a sophomore infielder, powered the SMWC offense with an explosive week, highlighted by four home runs, including two late game homers. She finished the week hitting .389 (7-for-18) with five runs scored, six RBIs, and a 1.111 slugging percentage across six conference games.

Her biggest performance came in a 6-5 win over Shawnee State, where she went 3-for-4 with a double, two home runs, and two RBIs. Duke also delivered in clutch moments, launching two walk-off home runs during the week, helping the Pomeroys secure key conference victories.

In a 4-2 win over Indiana Southeast, Duke went 2-for-3 with two home runs and three RBIs, accounting for the majority of the team's offense. She added hits in both games of a doubleheader split at Rio Grande, including an RBI in a 1-0 victory.

Defensively, Duke recorded a .941 fielding percentage over the six-game stretch from her shortstop position.

The Pomeroys close out the regular season this week with a pair of River States Conference road doubleheaders. SMWC will travel to Brescia University (Ky.) on Thursday, April 23 for games at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. (CT), followed by a trip to Indiana University Columbus on Friday, April 24 for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
