Box Score 2 SAINT MARY OF THE WOODS, Ind. - The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College softball team (5-5) split its second doubleheader of the weekend with Concordia University-Ann Arbor (6-9) today to finish 2-2 on the weekend. Brooke Coffing pitched a stellar 7 innings in game one as the Pomeroys would win 1-0 on a walk-off wild pitch to score Faith Pokryfke. SMWC couldn't mount the comeback in game two's 2-5 loss and would have to split again.

Brooke Coffing pitched her first complete game of the season, throwing seven shutout innings while striking out three and allowing six hits. Her strong outing on the mound was coupled with a 3-for-3 day at the plate. Both teams had opportunities to score throughout but the winning run would come in the bottom of the 7th when a wild pitch would score Faith Pokryfke from 3rd base to earn the Pomeroys the 1-0 win.

Summer Rocha started on the rubber for the Pomeroys, allowing just one run on eight hits through five innings. Jaselyn Conn would single to score Caitlin Bowersock in the 2nd inning to give SMWC an early lead. It wasn't until the 6th when the Cardinals would capitalize on hits down the left line to score three runs and take the lead 4-1. Concordia would tack on another in the 7th and SMWC would scrape together one more as their rally fell short to fall 2-5.

SMWC returns to the diamond this Friday, March 12th when they host Indiana University-Southeast (0-0) for a 3:00/5:00 p.m. ET doubleheader.
