DUBOIS, Pa. -  Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College softball fell to #1 seed Cleary University today 5-3. The Pomeroys will be back in action tomorrow at noon against Carlow University. From this point, SMWC must win every game from here on out. The Pomeroys must win three games tomorrow to make it to championship Thursday.

USCAA Small College World Series Game 2 | vs. Cleary University

Despite out-hitting Cleary University, the Pomeroys could not come out on top. In the second inning, Cleary got their offense started when they hit a double on a 1-2 count which scored one run. Cleary pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning. In the third inning, a Cougar doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring two more runs. Katelynn Kennedy took the loss for SMWC She went five innings, allowed three runs on four hits and struck out seven. Taylor Andrew started the game for the Pomeroys. She surrendered two runs on four hits over one inning. Kindra Gingerich, Kennedy, Hailey Miller, and Jilliann Reese each had multiple hits for the team.
