SMWC then added another run in the top of the third from another RBI single by Riffe that scored Waters for a second time. IWU added two runs of their own off of junior Christian Chambers, who pitched the first four innings, to tie the game at two.

The Pomeroys waited until the top of the fifth to regain control when senior Camille Ulery hit her third home run of the season to give SMWC two runs. Also scoring in the fifth was Waters on a pass ball and sophomore Hollie Jones via Riffe's third RBI single of the game.

SMWC continued to keep IWU on the scoreboard with senior Stephanie Richardson coming in the fifth to finish out game one in the circle. The Pomeroys then added an insurance run in the top of the seventh to claim the 7-2 victory.

Riffe finished game one a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBIs, while both Jones and Waters scored two runs for the Pomeroys.

Game Two

The Pomeroys had their bats working in game two and claimed a 10-0 eight run rule victory by spreading out 10 runs across four innings. It was senior Marlee Yeager's turn in game two to shine at the plate, as she followed up Riffe's 3-for-3 performance with a 3-for-3 performance of her own that included a home run and five RBIs.

Sophomore Taylor Andrew went the distance to earn the victory and struck out seven batters along the way. SMWC's scoring consisted of one run in the first, two in the second and third and five in the fourth.
