SAINT MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. — Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College freshman Lauren Gill was named the River States Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Gill produced four goals, one assist and nine points across two starts for the Pomeroys. She recorded consecutive two-goal performances and placed nine of her 12 shots on goal, averaging two goals and 4.5 points per match.

The Leicester, England, native opened the week by scoring twice in SMWC's 3-0 victory over Governors State. Gill scored the game-winning goal and placed five of her seven shots on target as the Pomeroys earned their second consecutive shutout victory.

Gill accounted for all three SMWC goals Saturday at Viterbo. She scored in the 35th minute, assisted Riley Sabath's goal less than two minutes into the second half and completed her second consecutive brace with another goal in the 90th minute.

Gill played the full 90 minutes against Viterbo and finished with two goals, one assist and four shots on goal.

The freshman leads SMWC with six goals, two assists and 14 points through seven appearances this season. She has placed 16 of her 21 shots on goal and has scored four of the Pomeroys' six goals over their past two matches.

SMWC returns to action Sunday, Sept. 27, when it visits Harris-Stowe State University in St. Louis. The match, rescheduled from Sept. 5, is set to begin at 1 p.m. CT.
