SAINT MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. — Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College sophomore Ella Cox has been named the River States Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.

The Gig Harbor, Washington, native contributed two goals and one assist during the Pomeroys' 6-0 victory over Calumet College of St. Joseph on Saturday at McMahon Field.

Cox opened the scoring just 1 minute, 43 seconds into the match before striking again in the 59th minute. She later assisted Mira Atari's goal as SMWC pulled away in the second half.

Cox finished the victory with five points, placing five of her seven shots on goal. She started both of the Pomeroys' matches during the week and helped SMWC secure its first victory of the season.

The Pomeroys return to McMahon Field on Wednesday, Sept. 16, to host Anderson University. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET.
