TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's track and field team turned in a strong all-around performance Saturday at the Fightin' Engineers Spring Classic, highlighted by a dominant day from senior
Evelyn Morales.
As a team, the Pomeroys finished third overall with 133 points in a meet that featured 19 scored events. Rose-Hulman captured the team title with 264 points, followed by Manchester (166), Saint Mary-of-the-Woods (133), Indiana Kokomo (38), Oakland City (33), and Run Club at IU (9).
Morales paced the Pomeroys with a first-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles, crossing the line in 1:09.52 to earn 10 team points. She also added a third-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles (17.41) and ran a leg on the winning 4x400-meter relay team that posted a time of 4:25.08.

Joslyn Young secured another 10 points for SMWC with their first-place effort.
Cooley added to the Pomeroys' hurdle success, finishing second in both the 100-meter hurdles (16.94) and 400-meter hurdles (1:11.78).
On the track, senior
Jaci Stone delivered a strong sprint performance with a runner-up finish in the 100 meters (12.90), a fifth-place finish in the 200 meters (26.93), and a third-place mark in the long jump (4.92m).
In the middle-distance events,
Gwen Garman led the way with a first-place finish in the 1500 meters (5:27.87), while
Brooke Mace placed second (5:36.10). The duo also contributed in the 800 meters alongside
Chloe Field, who finished fifth (2:37.97).
Distance standout
Quinlan Teague added another event title for the Pomeroys, winning the 5000 meters in 18:44.84.
Joslyn Young turned in a strong all-around day, placing second in the 400 meters (1:02.43) and third in the high jump (1.40m).
In the field events,
Callee Riggle captured a first-place finish in the javelin (34.48m), while adding an eighth-place mark in the hammer throw.
Gaige Goodman contributed with a fifth-place finish in the long jump (4.62m) and seventh in the 400 meters.
SMWC returns to action April 3–4 at the Indiana State Pacesetter Invitational in Terre Haute, Indiana.
