TERRE HAUTE, Ind. —
Jerahmia Smith paced the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College men's track and field team Friday at the Rose-Hulman Classic, recording a runner-up finish in the shot put as the Pomeroys placed seventh overall with 24 points in an 11-team field at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
Smith turned in one of the top performances of the day for SMWC, placing second in the shot put with a mark of 16.68 meters (54-8.75) to earn eight team points. It broke his own school record and was once again ahead of the NAIA 'B' Standard. Tristin Benskin added to the total with a fifth-place finish at 14.50 meters (47-7.00), while
Lane Milner and
Eli Cox also competed in the event.
Abbott Church contributed multiple scoring efforts for the Pomeroys in the field events. Church placed fifth in the high jump after clearing 1.78 meters (5-10.00), earning four points, and later added a point with an eighth-place finish in the triple jump at 11.63 meters (38-2.00). He also competed in the long jump, recording a mark of 5.53 meters (18-1.75).
Benskin scored again for SMWC in the weight throw, placing eighth with a mark of 15.84 meters (51-11.75). Smith followed in 10th at 14.62 meters (47-11.75), while Cox and Milner rounded out the Pomeroys' entries in the event.
On the track,
Brandyn Bobo led the sprint group for SMWC, clocking a time of 7.22 seconds in the 60-meter preliminaries before finishing 10th in the 200 meters at 23.70 seconds.
Devon Bowe also competed in both sprint events.
Jaryn Patterson and
Quaion Russell represented the Pomeroys in the 200 and 400 meters, while
Elijah Williams led the middle-distance group with a time of 2:01.38 in the 800 meters.
Jayden Hickenbotham,
Evan Polley,
James Frye, and
Ethan DeHamer also competed in the event. Hickenbotham added a performance in the mile, finishing in 4:45.93.
Patterson added two more points for SMWC in the pole vault, clearing 3.70 meters (12-1.50) to place seventh overall.
The SMWC 4x400-meter relay team of Williams, Patterson, DeHamer, and Russell closed the meet with a ninth-place finish in a time of 3:42.53, contributing four points to the team total.
Host Rose-Hulman captured the team title with 132 points, followed by Washington University (125) and Indiana State (111). DePauw placed fourth with 103 points.

Anderson University Invitational in
