The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods women secured a
third-place team finish with 57 points, scoring in 13 of 15 events against a competitive field that included several NCAA programs.
In the
60-meter dash,
Jaci Stone led SMWC with a 13th-place finish in
8.18 seconds.
Lauren Majors followed with a
personal-best time of 8.38 seconds, while
Jacee Cottrell added valuable experience in the event.
The Pomeroys earned points in the
60-meter hurdles, highlighted by
Genesis Boyd, who placed
fifth overall in
9.79 seconds, recording a
personal best that ranked among the top NAIA performances in the event.
Evelyn Morales added points with a
sixth-place finish in
10.11 seconds.
SMWC added a podium finish in the
400 meters, as
Joslyn Young placed
third overall in
1:01.75, earning six points.
Middle-distance competition continued in the
800 meters, where
Gwen Garman placed
fourth overall with a time of
2:36.02, adding five points and posting one of the top NAIA marks in the event.
The Pomeroys closed distance competition in dominant fashion in the
3,000 meters, sweeping the top three positions.
Quinlan Teague captured the win with a
personal-best time of 10:59.06, ranking among the top NAIA marks nationally.
Brooke Mace followed in
second place at
12:26.46, while
Clara Westcott placed
third in
13:17.47.
In the field, SMWC added another multi-point effort in the
long jump, placing three athletes inside the top seven.
Stone led the Pomeroys with a
fifth-place finish, jumping
4.74 meters (15 feet, 6.75 inches).
Majors followed in
sixth place with a mark of
4.67 meters (15-4.00), while
Gaige Goodman placed
seventh at
4.36 meters (14-3.75).
Sprint competition concluded in the
200 meters, with
Stone again leading SMWC in
12th place at
28.03 seconds, followed by
Majors,
Goodman and
Cottrell.
The Pomeroys competed in the
weight throw, led by
Callee Riggle, who finished
15th overall with a top throw of
13.27 meters (43-6.50).
Maylee Wenzel,
Renee Pierce and
Aubrey Wilson each recorded
personal-best marks.Â
SMWC competed in the
shot put, led by
Callee Riggle, who recorded a top throw of
9.79 meters (32 feet, 1.50 inches).
Maylee Wenzel followed with a mark of
9.50 meters (31-2.00), while
Aubrey Wilson posted a
personal-best throw of 9.25 meters (30-4.25)Â to round out the SMWC competitors in the event.
The women capped the meet on the track with a
third-place finish in the 4×400-meter relay. The relay team of
Morales, Boyd, Chloe Field and Young posted a
season-best time of 4:26.05, earning six points.Â
