Box Score LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The SMWC women's basketball team battled Spalding University this afternoon at 1:00 p.m. The Pomeroys lost to the Golden Eagles 102-74 which snapped their three-game win streak.
GAME FLOW
Early in the first quarter, SMWC shot the ball 37.5% from beyond the arc but could not stop the high-powered offensive attack by the Golden Eagles. At the end of the first, the Pomeroys were down 26-19. In the second, SMWC was outscored 23 to 18, despite winning the turnover margin. At halftime, the Woods trailed 49-37. In the third quarter, the Pomeroys offense caught fire as they scored 21 points on nine total field goals. In the fourth quarter, the SMWC defense gave up 35 points and could not overcome the deficit. Spalding beat the Pomeroys 102 - 74.
