Box Score DETROIT, Mich. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College Soccer team fell to Marygrove College on Tuesday, 3-2. After Tuesday's loss, the Pomeroys now sit at 2-6-0 on the year.
The Pomeroys got off to an excellent start vs. the Mustangs, as SMWC scored two goals in the first half and went into the break with a 2-0 lead. Senior Sarah Robinson tallied SMWC's first goal of the day, her second of the season, in the 17th minute. Robinson scored after a corner kick landed near junior Amanda Loebker, who then fed it to Robinson for the goal.
SMWC's second goal came in the 35th minute when freshman Jordan DeBoy sent a pass to Loebker, who was able to beat the Marygrove keeper and find the back of the net. Loebker's fifth goal of the season gave SMWC a 2-0 lead heading into the break.
Coming off of the break, the Mustangs found their way onto the board early when they scored in the 47th minute. The Mustangs didn't stop there, as they went on to complete the comeback by scoring goals in the 62nd and 65th minute.
Both sophomore Georgie Macy and freshman Shannon Sonderman saw action in the goal on Tuesday. Macy started the first half, while Sonderman started the second. Macy would return to the goal in the second half once the Mustangs took the 3-2 lead.
The Pomeroys will be back in action on September 27, when they head to Anderson University.
