SAINT MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. — Senior thrower Jerahmia Smith (Phoenix, Ariz.) of the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC) men's track and field team has been named the River States Conference (RSC) Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week, the league office announced.

Smith continued his standout outdoor campaign with a strong performance at the Pacesetter Invitational on April 4. Competing in a field of 33 athletes in the shot put, Smith recorded a mark of 16.39 meters to finish third overall. His performance placed him behind two NCAA Division I competitors and stands as the top shot put mark in the RSC this season.

Smith's throw also ranks No. 7 nationally in the NAIA, further solidifying his position among the top field athletes in the country this year.

The back-to-back weekly honors highlight Smith's consistency and dominance early in the outdoor season as he continues to lead the conference in his signature event.

Smith and the Pomeroys will return to action Saturday, April 11, at the Greenville Select Meet in Greenville, Illinois. The meet is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. CT.
