DANIELS, W. Va. — The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College men's golf team completed the second round of the River States Conference Championships on Monday at The Resort at Glade Springs and will enter Tuesday's final round in 10th place.
The Pomeroys posted a two-round total of 655 (326-329) on the par 72, 6,898-yard layout, with one round remaining in the three-day championship hosted by West Virginia Tech.
Nolan Mishler and
Josh Michael led SMWC through 36 holes, each sitting tied for 28th overall with matching totals of 163. Mishler opened with a 77 before carding an 86 in round two, while Michael followed his first-round 83 with an 80 on Monday.
Nolan Allen made a strong move in the second round, improving nine strokes from Sunday with a 78 to sit tied for 32nd at 165 (87-78).
John Amt is tied for 37th at 167 (82-85), and
Tomas Carvajal rounds out the lineup in a tie for 46th at 172 (84-88).
Indiana University East moved into the team lead at 615 (307-308), followed by Midway (616) and Rio Grande (621). Oakland City (622) and West Virginia Tech (640) complete the top five heading into the final round.
Individually, Midway's Gage Gregory and Oakland City's Jose Vidal are tied atop the leaderboard at 142 after two rounds.
