SAINT MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. – Jerahmia Smith continued his dominant outdoor season for Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College as he was named River States Conference Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for the fourth consecutive week.
Smith, a senior from Phoenix, Ariz., highlighted his week with a first-place finish in the shot put at the 121st annual Little State Championships. He recorded a throw of 16.98 meters, once again hitting the NAIA "A" standard in the event against a field of 59 competitors.
In addition to his shot put performance, Smith also competed in the hammer throw, posting a mark of 39.87 meters.
Smith's continued success marks his fourth straight weekly honor from the RSC, solidifying his place among the top field athletes in the NAIA this season.
The Pomeroys will next compete at the River States Conference Outdoor Championship, set for May 1–2 in Rio Grande, Ohio. Competition begins Friday at 1 p.m. and continues Saturday at 11 a.m.
Following the conference meet, Smith is scheduled to compete at the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships in the shot put on May 21 at 1 p.m. (ET).
