TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's golfer
Renae Jaeger has been named the River States Conference Women's Golfer of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Jaeger earned the honor after leading Saint Mary-of-the-Woods to the team championship at the Great Lakes Intercollegiates, hosted by Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology at The Country Club of Terre Haute. She claimed individual medalist honors with a two-round total of 145.
Jaeger opened the tournament with a round of 75 before delivering a tournament-best 70 in the final round to separate from the field and secure the individual title. Her performance helped power the Pomeroys to a dominant team victory, as Saint Mary-of-the-Woods posted a two-round total of 611 (332-279) to win by 44 strokes over John A. Logan.
The award marks a strong start to the spring season for Jaeger and the Pomeroys, who continue to build momentum in tournament play.
Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College returns to action March 30-31 at the Midway Eagle Invitational in Versailles, Kentucky.
