Jaeger Leads Pomeroys to Third-Place Finish at Midway Eagle Invitational

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's golf team secured a third-place finish Tuesday at the Midway Eagle Invitational, hosted at the University Club of Kentucky in Lexington.

The Pomeroys posted a two-round team total of 690, improving by eight strokes in the final round with a 341 after opening with a 349 on Monday.

Midway captured the team title with a total of 665, followed by Huntington (Ind.) in second at 679. SMWC finished third to round out the top three.

Individually, Renae Jaeger led the way for the Pomeroys with a fifth-place tie, carding rounds of 86 and 80 for a total of 166. Jaeger's final-round 80 highlighted a strong closing push.

Macie Shirk added a top-10 performance, tying for eighth with a 167 (82-85), while Bailey Barker finished tied for 14th with a 175 (90-85).

Brooklee Bussing recorded a 182 (91-91) to place 18th overall.

Rounding out the lineup, Kristin Pagach and Brianna Andreas each posted totals of 188, finishing tied for 24th.

Midway's Kasey Cameron claimed medalist honors with a 160 (83-77), while IU Southeast's Emma Rowland finished second at 162.

Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College returns to action April 12-13 at the ISU Spring Invitational at the Country Club of Terre Haute in Terre Haute, Ind.
