The SMWC Sprint Football team will begin its fourth season at Midway (Ky.) on Saturday, September 13. Kickoff is set for 1 pm (ET). The game will be broadcast live on WNDI 95.3 FM on the radio with the legendary John Montgomery on the call.
SMWC enters its fourth season of sprint football under head coach
Blaine Powell. The Pomeroys are 20-4 all-time in the sport, including a perfect 3-0 in season openers. This will mark the first time in program history that the Pomeroys have opened a campaign on the road against Midway. In 2022, SMWC won its first-ever sprint football game at Calumet College of St. Joseph in a 34-28 overtime thriller. In 2023, the Pomeroys followed with a 28-10 win at CCSJ in the opener, and in 2024 they topped Midway 41-19 at home to start the season.
