CHARLESTON, Ill. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College men's and women's track and field team battled heavy rains and wet conditions on Saturday (April 5) at the Big Blue Invitational hosted by Eastern Illinois.

For the women, in the 4 x 100 meter relay the team of Jaci Stone, Kyla Bradberry, Alex Hernandez and Hope McGuire posted a time of 51.07 seconds which won the event. On the men's side the team of Devon Bowe, Darrius Megnin, MiRon Starks and Na'Sier Samuel posted a time of 45.29 seconds and finished third.

Morales posted a time of 17.04 seconds in the 100 meter hurdles for a fourth place finish while Genesis Boyd was fifth in 21.86 seconds. Bradberry went on to finish in ninth place in the 400 meter run with a time of 1:05.36.

Tristin Benskin recorded a throw of 37.94 meters (124-6) in the discus — good enough for a sixth place finish. Callee Riggle led the way for the women in the discus with a fifth place finish and a throw of 26.56 meters (87-2) while IndiAnn Nichols posted a sixth place result with a mark of 26.13 meters (85-9). 

Stone recorded a long jump mark of 4.69 meters (15-4.75) for fourth while Payton Smith was fifth with a distance of 4.52 meters (14-10). In the men's pole vault, Jaryn Patterson recorded a third place finish with a leap of 3.50 meters (11-5.75). Abbott Church recorded a sixth place finish in the men's high jump with a mark of 1.75 meters (5-9).

Keyshia Armstrong competed in the women's 100 meter dash and finished with a time of 14.67 seconds for a seventh place finish. On the men's side, Devin Bowe finished 12^th with a time of 11.86 seconds. Gwen Garman finished 14^th in the women's 800 meter run with a time of 2:44.80.
