TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- A total of twelve Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College men's and women's track & field records fell on Friday evening (April 18) at the Rose-Hulman Twilight Meet on the campus of Rose-Hulman. Seven new records were set for the men's program while on the women's side they set five new school standards and Kyla Bradberry secured a spot at the NAIA Outdoor National Meet later this spring in the 200 meter dash by hitting the national 'B' standard in the event.
For the women, they finished in third place in the team scoring with a total of 76 points.
Kyla Bradberry continued her outstanding outdoor campaign with a 24.49 seconds showing in the women's 200 meter dash to win the event and hit the NAIA 'B' standard. She is the first Pomeroy to qualify for the NAIA Outdoor National Meet. She also improved her own school record in the event as well as the fastest time in the River States this season. Alex Hernandez was 10th with a time of 27.46 seconds.
The women's 4 x 100 meter relay team of
Jaci Stone,
Kyla Bradberry,
Alex Hernandez and
Hope McGuire finished second with a new school record time of 48.56 seconds improving the Pomeroys best time this season in the River States Conference. The previous record of 48.60 seconds has stood since 2023 with Stone and McGuire also competing on that relay team. The 4 x 400 meter relay team of
Evelyn Morales,
Alex Hernandez,
Joslyn Young and Bradberry also set a school record with a time of 4:04.36 to finish in second place.
Bradberry went on to a victory in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.19 seconds to win the event by a nearly two hundredths of a second margin. Stone was seventh in a time of 12.70 seconds.
Evelyn Morales recorded the fastest time in the River States this season with a 15.88 second mark in the 100 meter hurdles — though wind aided. Morales was fourth in the event. Morales improved upon her own school record time in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:06.89 which was third and the fastest time this outdoor season in the conference.
Joslyn Young was sixth in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:11.84 while
Genesis Boyd posted an 11
th place finish with a time of 1:15.61. Morales also went on a third place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 10.04 meters (32-11-25).
Quinlan Teague recorded an 11
th place finish in the 1,500 meter run with a time of 5:10.43.
Gwen Garman was the Pomeroy's top finisher in the 800 meter run with an 18
th place finish in a time of 2:39.44 while
Brinlee McCloud was 20
th with a time of 2:43.25.
Jaci Stone earned a fourth place finish in the long jump with a mark of 5.03 meters (16-6).
In the women's javelin throw,
Callee Riggle recorded a mark of 33.56 meters (110-01) to improve upon her school record and finished second in the event.
Renee Pierce posted a mark of 14.60 meters to finish in 15
th place. Riggle went on to a ninth place showing in the women's hammer throw with a mark of 34.83 meters (114-3) while Pierce was 15
th at 29.06 meters (95-4) and
IndiAnn Nichols was 16
th with a toss of 26.52 meters (87-0).
IndiAnn Nichols recorded a mark of 10.67 meters in the shot put (35-0.25) which is also a personal best and finished fourth in the event. In the women's pole vault,
Payton Smith recorded a height of 2.27 meters (7-5.25) which was 10th. Nichols was 14
th in the discus with a mark of 26.67 meters (87-6).
The Pomeroys will travel to the River States Conference Outdoor Championships on Friday & Saturday, April 25-26 to be held in Rio Grande, Ohio. The meet will begin on Friday at 1 pm (ET).
