SAINT MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. – St. Mary-of-the-Woods College senior
Jaci Stone has been named the
River States Conference Track & Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced Monday, after a dominant performance at the Fightin' Engineers Invitational on December 6.
Stone (Jasonville, Ind.) delivered one of the most complete all-around performances of the meet, finishing with
three top-two results, including
two individual victories and a
facility record.
Stone opened her season by
winning the long jump with a mark of
4.92 meters, topping all five competitors. On the track, she turned in one of the day's defining performances,
breaking the Sports & Recreation Center facility record in the
60-meter dash with a winning time of
8.03 seconds. She capped her outing with a
runner-up finish in the 200 meters, clocking
27.40 against a field of seven sprinters.
Her efforts powered the Pomeroys' strong opening to the indoor season and solidified her standing as one of the RSC's most versatile and impactful athletes.
SMWC returns to competition on

annual John Gartland Invitational.
