TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- A total of twelve Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College men's and women's track & field records fell on Friday evening (April 18) at the Rose-Hulman Twilight Meet on the campus of Rose-Hulman. Seven new records were set for the men's program while on the women's side they set five new school standards and Kyla Bradberry secured a spot at the NAIA Outdoor National Meet later this spring in the 200 meter dash by hitting the national 'B' standard in the event.
The men were fourth overall in the team scoring by tallying 64 points.
The men's 4 x 100 meter relay team of Devon Bowe, Darrius Megnin, Christian Woodard and Na'Sier Samuel improved their school record time in the event with a fifth place finish and a time of 43.16 seconds. Also improving upon their second record time from earlier this season was the men's 4 x 400 meter relay team who finish third with a time of 3:21.93. Megnin, Woodard, Samuel and Jaryn Patterson set the standard this time which is second fastest in the River States.
Also posting a new school record in the meet was
Thomas Chapman who posted a time of 4:04.96 in the 1,500 meter run to finish in ninth place. Chapman broke his own standard by nearly three seconds set in 2023. As a follow up to that performance, Chapman also set a new school record in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:04.17 which was 20
th in the event. He broke the record which was set last year of 2:04.43.
Megnin was able to notch a new school record time in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.52 seconds which shaved three hundredths of a second off his previous best. It is the third fastest time in the River States Conference so far this season and was good enough for fourth place in the event. He went on to also set the school record — breaking his own mark from earlier in the year — with a time of 55.08 seconds to win the 400 meter hurdles. It is now the second fastest time this outdoor season in the league. Jaryn Patterson was 17
th with a time of 1:04.02.
Also in the sprints, Samuel recorded an eighth place finish in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.20 seconds.
Jerahmia Smith recorded a victory for the Pomeroys in the shot put with a throw of 15.71 meters (51-6.5) while Tristin Benskin recorded a throw of 14.65 meters (48-0.75) for a second place showing. Benskin would improve upon his own school record mark in the discus throw with a toss of 43.21 meters (141-9) for a second place finish in the event.
Eli Cox set a new personal best with a fourth place finish in the javelin throw with a toss of 42.02 meters (137-10). In the men's hammer throw Tristin Benskin posted a ninth place finish with a mark of 42.70 meters (140-1).
Patterson recorded a 16
th place finish in the pole vault with a leap of 3.37 meters (11-0.75).
Abbott Church cleared 1.80 meters (5-10.75) in the high jump to post a third place showing. Church also competed in the triple jump and completed a leap of 12.24 meters (40-2) which was eighth. The busy meet for Church continued with a third place finish in the long jump with a mark of 5.87 meters (19-3.25).

The Pomeroys will travel to the River States Conference Outdoor Championships on Friday & Saturday, April 25-26 to be held in Rio Grande, Ohio. The meet will begin on Friday at 1 pm (ET).
