Women's Track Battles Rain To Excel At Pacesetter Invitational

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College men's and women's track & field teams battled rainy conditions and top competition at the Pacesetter Invitational, hosted by Indiana State University on Saturday (March 29). 

The Pomeroys will return to action on April 4 & 5 at the Eastern Illinois Invitational in Charleston, Ill.

The women's team scored 10 points in the meet to record an 11th place finish at the meet.

Joslyn Young recorded a time of 1:08.85 to finish 12th in the 400 meter hurdles. Evelyn Morales time of 1:09.37 was right behind her for a 13th place result. Quinlan Teague recorded a personal best and the best mark so far in the River States Conference this season with a time of 40:10.89 in the 10,000 meter run. It was fifth in the event as well as the seventh-fastest time in the NAIA this season.

Kyla Bradberry — the reigning River States Conference Track Athlete of the Week -- posted a time of 12.18 seconds which finished 13th in the event and is the 15th best time in the NAIA this year. Hope Mcguire's time of 12.53 seconds ranks as the 41st fastest time this season in the NAIA. Bradberry raced to a fourth place finish in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.66 seconds — ranking as the 9th fastest time in the NAIA this season.  

Callee Riggle competed in the javelin throw and posted a school record mark of 26.02 meters (85-04) which was 15th. 

Gwen Garman posted a personal best with a time of 5:33.65 to finish 29th in the 1,500 meter run.
