Pomeroys Wrap With Florida Trip In West Palm Beach

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.  — The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College men's golf team completed their Florida trip by competing in the Kona Ice Keiser Kup, hosted by Keiser University. The event was being held at Okeeheelee Golf Course — a par-71, 6,813-yard layout.

On the final day of the event, Nathan Fields led the way with an 86. His previous rounds of 85 and 97 give him a three-day total of 268 — good enough for 77th place.

Nolan Allen fired an opening round of 82 and followed that with an 89 on Monday. His final round of 87 for a total of 258 and was the top finisher in 74th place. 

Colby Beckwith also carded rounds of 85 and 97 plus Tuesday's score of 87 for a final tally of 269 which was 78th. Camden Church posted an opening round of 92 and came back with another 92 on Monday and Tuesday for a total of 276 and finished in 79th place.

As a team, SMWC posted a score of 341 on Sunday and came back with a 362 on Monday. They fired off a 352 in the final round which put them in 14th place. Host Keiser posted rounds of 281, 298 and 293 to win the tournament.

The Pomeroys next tournament is much closer as they will travel to Hulman Links in Eastern Vigo County on March 22 & 23 for the Great Lakes Invitational — hosted by Rose-Hulman.
