ADA, Mich. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College men's golf team sits in
seventh place after the first two rounds of the
Egypt Valley Championship, hosted by Taylor University at Egypt Valley Country Club.
The Pomeroys opened with a
316 on Monday morning before closing with a
336 in the afternoon for a
652 two-round total on the par-72 layout.
Individual Performances
- John Amt led SMWC with a 157 (77–80), tying for 11th overall.
- Nolan Allen followed at 161 (77–84), tied for 21st.
- Tomas Carvajal carded a 164 (78–86) to tie for 27th.
- Neal Jeffery posted a 170 (84–86), tying for 37th.
- Matt Pearison shot 180 (90–90), standing 44th.
Competing individually,
Nolan Mishler turned in a
176 (89–87) to place 43rd.
At the top of the leaderboard, Taylor's
Tanner Conklin (76–71—147) and
Will Schuitema (68–79—147) share medalist honors through 36 holes.
The
third and final round is set for Tuesday, Oct. 7, as SMWC looks to close strong in a competitive NAIA field.
