KOHLER, Wis. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College men's golf team closed its fall schedule with a ninth-place finish at the Whistling Straits Classic, competing against a strong field at one of the most prestigious courses in the country.
The Pomeroys posted rounds of 346 and 334 for a 680 total. Taylor University won the event at 608, with UW-Parkside (621) and Grace College (631) rounding out the top three.
Individually,
John Amt led SMWC with a two-day score of 171 (89–82), tying for 43rd place. He was followed closely by
Tomas Carvajal, who shot 172 (87–85) to tie for 45th.
Nolan Allen carded rounds of 82–91 for a 173 total and a tie for 47th, while
Nolan Mishler finished at 174 (88–86) in 50th place.
Neal Jeffery rounded out the team's scoring lineup with a 176 (95–81), tying for 52nd.
The Whistling Straits Classic featured a competitive field of 12 teams, highlighted by four programs inside the NAIA top-50 and several regional rivals. The event capped a busy fall slate for the Pomeroys, who gained valuable experience heading into the spring season.
SMWC will return to action when its 2026 spring campaign begins.
