GAINESVILLE, Fla.  — Jerahmia Smith represented the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College track and field program at the NAIA Indoor National Championships on Saturday afternoon (March 1). The event was held at the Alachua County Sports and Events Center.

Smith competed in the shot put and had three throws in the event. He began with a throw of 15.78 meters (51-9.25) and then had a second attempt with a mark of 15.65 meters (51-4.25).

His final throw of 15.95 meters (52-4) was his best of the day and earned him the 13^th place finish in the event.

Brayton Stephenson of Central Methodist (Mo.) won the event with a throw of 17.44 meters (57-2.75).

Smith continues a strong run of recent national success for the Pomeroys following Thomas Chapman's appearance in the NAIA Cross Country nationals back in November. Krislynn Bailey competed at the NAIA Indoor Nationals last season in the pole vault.
