UPLAND, Ind. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's cross country team battled a competitive field at the Ray Bullock Invitational, hosted by Taylor University on Friday. The Pomeroys placed
10th overall in the women's 6K race.
Taylor captured the team title with 24 points, followed by Indiana Wesleyan (67) and Grace (71). SMWC totaled
253 points with a combined team time of
2:12:08.3, averaging a
7:06 pace per runner.
Senior
Quinlan Teague led the way for the Pomeroys, placing
36th overall with a time of
24:01.7 (6:28 pace). She was followed by freshman
Brooke Mace in 68th (25:45.7), sophomore
Gwen Garman in 81st (26:55.8), freshman
Cammi VanGilder in 83rd (27:22.4), and sophomore
Clara Westcott in 87th (28:02.5). Sophomore
Josie Gettinger also competed, crossing in 90th with a time of 29:12.4.
The Pomeroys return to competition on
Saturday, Oct. 25, at the
Great Lakes Challenge hosted at Riverside Park in Grand Rapids, Mich. The women's 6K race is set to begin at
10 a.m. (ET).
