RIO GRANDE, Ohio – Senior Quinlan Teague led the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's cross country team to a fifth-place team finish at the 2025 River States Conference Championships on Saturday morning at the University of Rio Grande.

The Pomeroys totaled 167 points, finishing just ahead of Midway (169) and IU Columbus (188) in a competitive nine-team field. Host Rio Grande captured the conference title with 41 points, followed by Shawnee State (47), Indiana East (58), and Indiana Kokomo (97) rounding out the top four.

Teague was once again the front-runner for SMWC, placing 13th overall in a time of 23:48.5 (6:23 pace) to secure a top-15 conference finish. Her performance capped a standout senior campaign and anchored a lineup that mixed veteran leadership with emerging underclass talent.

Freshman Brooke Mace stepped up with a 40th-place finish (26:09.4), followed by sophomore Gwen Garman (54th, 27:25.7), junior Brinlee McCloud (58th, 27:56.2), and freshman Cammi VanGilder (59th, 28:03.1) to complete the team's scoring five.

Sophomore Clara Westcott (65th, 28:29.6) and sophomore Josie Gettinger (73rd, 29:47.6) provided depth for the Pomeroys, while senior Katelynn Braun (82nd, 32:17.5) rounded out the squad in her final collegiate race.

The fifth-place team finish marks another year of steady progress for the SMWC women's program in a highly competitive RSC field that continues to feature some of the NAIA's strongest small-college programs.
