TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Against a tough field of NCAA teams from all over the Midwest and the Missouri Valley Conference, the SMWC Men's and Women's Track & Field teams competed at the Indiana State Gibson Invitational on Saturday.
Krislynn Bailey tallied a 10th place finish in the women's pole vault with a mark of 3.28 meters (10-9).
Among the top performers was the women's 4 x 100 meter relay of Jaci Stone, Savannah Lewis, D. Bryant and Hope McGuire who finished 10th in a time of 51.6 seconds. The 4 x 400 meter relay team of Brooklynn Deck, Bailey, C. Field and Evelyn Morales posted a season best time of 4:29.34. Emma Lynch was ninth in the women's 3,000 meter steeplechase with a time of 15:22.04.
In the men's 1,500 meters, James Frye set a PR with a time of 4:41.87 while Zachary Weir tallied a season best in a time of 4:42.08. Christian Woodard posted a PR in the men's 400 meters with a time of 51.75.
In the men's javelin, Eli Cox tallied a PR with a throw of 35.88 meters (117-8). Luke Frey finished 11th in the men's long jump with a mark of 6.59 meters (21-7.5).
The St. Mary-of-the-Woods men's and women's track and field teams return to action on April 25-26 when they travel to Pittsburgh, Pa., for the River States Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
