Pomeroy Men's & Women's Golf Finish Second At Kalamazoo Invite

The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College men's and women's golf teams finished in second place at the Kalamazoo Invitational on Monday (Oct. 21).

The men's team tied for second place in the one round event with a team score of 310. SMWC tied with Capital and trailed the event winner Alma by just a stroke as they checked in with a round of 309.

The Pomeroy women also finished in second place with a team score of 346 behind host Kalamazoo who carded a team score of 328 for the win.

Colby Beckwith led the men's team with a round of 74 to finish second in the event to Ricky Walsh of Capital who carded a 73. Chase Nuckols tied for 7th place in the event with a score of 77. Nolan Allen's round of 79 put him in a tie for 14th place. Brevin Cooper tallied a round of 80 to finish in a tie for 18th place. Ben Goshen fired a round of 85 to finish in a tie for 36th place. Hunter Martin tied for 40th place with a round of 80. 

For the women, Macie Shirk and Renae Jaeger tied for 6th place with rounds of 86. Bailey Barker and Kristin Pagach posted rounds of 87 and tied for 11th place. Brooklee Bussing's score of 90 put her in a tie for 14th. 

Ashtyn Witte carded a round of 105 which put her in 31st place competing as an individual. 

This is the last regularly scheduled meet for both the SMWC men's and women's golf teams during the fall campaign. The programs will return to action this spring.
