DANIELS, W.V. -- A two-over-par round of 74 on the final day of the River States Conference Preview by Justin Hopkins was good enough to surge him into the individual Top 20 to pace the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College men's golf team at the event. The tournament was held at the par-72 Glade Springs Resort and hosted by West Virginia Tech.

Hopkins followed up his opening round of 79 with a 74 for a total of 153 and a finish in 20th place at the event. Nolan Allen followed up his opener of 75 with an 81 on the final day to finish in 32nd place.

Chase Nuckols carded a round of 80 to follow up his round of 78 on Monday for a total of 158 and finished in 39th place. Brevin Cooper shot an 80 on Tuesday to follow his 79 and his total of 159 placed him 41st in the field. Colby Beckwith's round of 82 followed his score of 79 on Monday for a total of 161 and a 46th place finish.

As a team, the Pomeroys carded a final round of 315 after their opener of 311 for a total of 626 which was ninth in the 10 team field. SMWC beat Alice Lloyd in the event by nearly 40 strokes. Midway carded rounds of 292 and 287 for a total of 579 to win the event. IU-Kokomo edged the Pomeroys by two strokes in the tournament.

SMWC returns to action on October 7 & 8 when they travel to the Taylor Invitational in Ada, Mich.
