Pomeroys high-scoring attack takes on IU Southeast

About the Pomeroys
First-year coach Jesse McClung has the Pomeroys off to a solid start in 2023-24. 
The Pomeroys enter Tuesday's game winners of four of their past five games following a 87-79 overtime victory at IU East to open River States Conference action. 
Two of the Pomeroys' three losses have come to teams now ranked in the Top 25. SMWC lost 75-72 to then No. 24 Lourdes and lost Nov. 28 to University of the Cumberlands, 93-87, and the unbeaten Patriots are ranked 19th. 
SMWC set a new school record for points scored and field goals made (49) in a Nov. 21 win against UHSP by a score of 109-55. 
Cobie Barnes leads the Pomeroys in scoring at 22.5 ppg and is coming off a 32-point performance in the win at IU East. 

About IU Southeast
IU Southeast, the reigning River States Conference tournament champions, visit Hamilton Arena on Tuesday night with a 4-5 record overall and 1-1 mark in the RSC. 
The Grenadiers are coming off a 90-88 double-overtime loss to Oakland City at home. 
Jocobi Hendricks garnered RSC Player of the Week honors. The 6-foot guard from Louisville, Ky., scored 45 in a victory vs. Brescia and totaled 29 points in the loss to Oakland City. 
Six-foot-6 sophomore Lane Lauderbaugh is the second-leading scorer at 14.4 ppg. 
Of the Grenadiers' four straight nonconference losses, two came to teams currently in the NAIA Top 25 (No. 6 Georgetown and No. 19 Cumberlands). One other came to a Marian team receiving votes in the poll. 

STEALING SPOTLIGHT
Junior guard Greg Jenkins ranks ninth in the NAIA in the nation in steals per game with an average of 3.1 per game. Jen=kins had a five -steal performance against the Cumberlands to tie the SMWC single-game school record.

ON TARGET 
Freshman Shon Tupuola is second in the NAIA in field-goal percentage with a mark of 83.3 percent. 
Tupuola, a 6-9, 230-pound big man, is also 39th in the nation in rebounds per game (8.9 per game).
