Box Score SAINT MARY OF THE WOODS, Ind. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's basketball team improved to 6-5 in USCAA play and 8-15 overall with a 99-55 win over Robert Morris-Peoria on Saturday.
Junior Tara Parmer and senior Bria Hill led the way for the Pomeroys, as both recorded double-doubles. Parmer recorded a career-high 36 points to go with 10 rebounds for her ninth double-double of the year. Parmer's 36 points is the third most points in a single game, while her 9-for-16 performance from three set the school record for the most three-pointers made in a game. Hill turned in a team-high 15 rebounds and recorded 10 points. Also in double figures were freshman Mara Canada with a career-high 17 points, junior Jordyn Lloyd with 12 points and senior Ja'Breena Gardner with 10 points. Gardner recorded eight steals, as the Pomeroys forced the Eagles to turn the ball over 34 times.
The first half was low scoring with the Pomeroys taking a 15-11 lead into the second quarter. From there, SMWC got rolling with 30 second quarter points to take a 45-26 lead into halftime. In the second half, SMWC scored 24 points in the third and 30 in the fourth to seal the 99-55 victory.
The Pomeroys will be back in action on February 15 when they host Danville at 7 p.m.
