SAINT MARY OF THE WOODS, Ind. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's basketball team defeated Robert Morris – Springfield on Friday, 111-42, to improve to 7-13 on the year and 5-4 in the USCAA.

Junior Tara Parmer led the Pomeroys' explosive offense Friday night with her first career triple-double, as she scored 21 points, dished out 14 assists and grabbed 13 rebounds. Senior Bria Hill also had a big night on the stat sheet with 11 points and 11 rebounds for the double-double. Also in double figures, were senior Ja'Breena Gardner with 26 points, junior Jordyn Lloyd with 14 points, sophomore Callan Taylor with 13 and freshman Montgomeree Porter with 12 points.

Defensively, the Pomeroys forced 30 turnovers. An effort that was led by Parmer and Gardner, who each recorded five steals. SMWC's offense was firing on all cylinders, making 49 percent (44-of-89) of their shots from the field and 37 percent (19-of-48) from three-point range.

The Eagles jumped out to a 7-3 lead to start the game, but from there the Pomeroys caught fire and went on to score 34 points in the first quarter. The Pomeroys then turned around and out did themselves in the second quarter with 35 points to take a 69-21 lead into the locker room. In the second half, SMWC's offense kept rolling with 20 points in the third and 22 points in the fourth to coast to the dominating 111-42 victory.

The Pomeroys will now get a week break from action and will be back on the court on February 4 vs. Cincinnati Clermont at 2 p.m.
