TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Senior standout
Renae Jaeger delivered a headline performance for Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, carding a 74 to sit tied for first after the opening round of the Indiana State Invitational, hosted by Indiana State University at the Country Club of Terre Haute.
Jaeger's round of 74 matched the top score of the day, putting her in a share of the individual lead in a field loaded with NCAA Division I competitors. The SMWC senior maintained consistency throughout the round to position herself for a strong push in Monday's final round.
As a team, the Pomeroys posted a 332 and sit sixth overall after day one. University of Evansville leads the team standings with a 306, followed by Indiana State University (308) and University of Illinois Chicago (313).
Macie Shirk added an 83 for the Pomeroys, while
Brooklee Bussing turned in an 84 to round out the team's top contributors.
Kristin Pagach recorded a 91, and
Eva Mennonno posted a 94 to complete the scoring group.
SMWC also saw additional rounds from Brianna Andreas (96),
Emily Vandall (97), and
Bailey Barker (98) competing in the field.
The tournament concludes Monday, April 13, with a 9 a.m. (ET) shotgun start at the Country Club of Terre Haute, where Jaeger will look to maintain her position atop the leaderboard and lead the Pomeroys up the standings.
