Women's Golf In 8th Place After Opening Rounds Of Bob Rohrman Invite

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's golf team sits in eighth place after the first two rounds of the Bob Rohrman Invitational, hosted by Indiana Wesleyan at Purdue University's Ackerman-Allen Course.

The Pomeroys carded team rounds of 346–352 for a 698 total, placing them just four strokes back of Indiana Wesleyan's "B" squad (702) heading into Tuesday's final round.

Brooklee Bussing led SMWC with rounds of 81–86 for a 167 total, good for a tie at 23rd overall. Renae Jaeger followed with consistent rounds of 84–84 for 168, tied for 26th, while Macie Shirk matched Jaeger in the standings with 90–84 for 174, tied for 33rd.

Rounding out the lineup, Gabbie Blakeney posted rounds of 94–100 for a 194 total, and Bailey Barker completed her first round at 91 before not finishing round two.

Competing individually, Kristin Pagach (179) and Brianna Andres (191) gained valuable tournament experience for the Pomeroys.

Marian (Ind.) leads the 10-team field with a 623 (321–302), followed by Indiana Wesleyan (639) and Cumberlands (651).

SMWC will conclude play Tuesday morning in the final round at Ackerman-Allen, looking to climb the leaderboard and build on its second-round stability.
