TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's golf program showcased its depth at the D3/NAIA Challenge on Sunday and Monday at The Country Club of Terre Haute, with the Pomeroys' A Team finishing runner-up and the B Team placing fifth in the six-team field.
The A Team closed at +71 to take second place, led by
Brooklee Bussing, who finished third overall with rounds of 80 and 78 (158).
Renae Jaeger followed in fourth place at 160 (78–82), while
Macie Shirk delivered a standout second round 77 to place seventh at 164.
Kristin Pagach (85–82—167) and
Bailey Barker (86–81—167) tied for ninth place, giving SMWC all five players inside the top 10 individually.
The B Team compiled a two-day score of +161 to take fifth.
Bri Andres paced the lineup with rounds of 92 and 87 (179), followed closely by
Gabrielle Blakeney at 180 (94–86) and
Claire Thompson at 184 (89–95).
Sophie Thompson carded a 194 (98–96), while
Phoebe Henderson added a 207 (104–103).
Kendall Nicoson (236) and
Emma Callahan (255) rounded out the group.
SMWC will be back in action October 6–7 at the River States Conference Fall Preview in Daniels, W.Va.
