SMWC Women's Golf Finishes Second At Lawrence Tech Invite

BOYNE FALLS, Mich. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's golf team finished in second place after two rounds of play at the Lawrence Tech Invitational at Boyne Mountain Resort's Alpine Course, as the third and final round scheduled for Wednesday was canceled due to inclement weather.

The Pomeroys posted rounds of 337–322 for a 659 total, trimming 15 strokes on day two to climb into contention. Host Lawrence Tech was declared the tournament winner with a two-round total of 634, while Northwestern Ohio (667) and Bethel (Ind.) (670) rounded out the top four.

Individual Highlights

SMWC was led by Renae Jaeger and Brooklee Bussing, who both tied for 5th place individually at 160 (+16).

Jaeger rebounded with a 77 in round two after carding an 83 in round one.

Bussing was steady across both rounds, shooting 79–81.

Bailey Barker tied for 11th at 169 (87–82), while Macie Shirk was close behind in a tie for 13th at 170 (88–82).

Emily Vandall rounded out the Pomeroys' scoring five in a tie for 24th (96–88—184).

Competing as an individual, Eva Mennonno finished at 201 (96–105).
