BOYNE FALLS, Mich. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College men's golf team finished in ninth place after two rounds at the Lawrence Tech Invitational at Boyne Mountain Resort's Alpine Course, as the third and final round scheduled for Wednesday was canceled due to inclement weather.
The Pomeroys carded rounds of 323–320 for a 643 total, improving by three strokes in round two. Taylor claimed the team title with a two-round total of 595, followed by Northwestern Ohio (599) and Grace (605).
Individual Highlights
Nolan Allen led SMWC with a 157 (80–77), tying for 27th overall.
John Amt tied for 38th with a 161 (77–84).
Matt Pearison posted a strong second round, improving six strokes to finish at 162 (84–78), tied for 40th.
Josh Michael was just behind at 163 (82–81), tied for 42nd.
Camden Church rounded out the team lineup with a 180 (92–88).
Competing as an individual, Tomas Carvajal placed 46th with a 165 (81–84).
