RICHMOND, Ind. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's golf team turned in a fourth-place team finish at the IU-East Invitational, closing with a two-day score of 631 (+55) at Highland Lake Golf Course.
Indiana University East won the event with a 622 (+46), followed closely by Grace (628, +52) and Huntington (630, +54).
The Pomeroys were led by
Brooklee Bussing, who shot rounds of 76–78—154 (+10) to tie for third place individually. Three more Pomeroys finished inside the top 20:
Renae Jaeger (77–81—158, T-11),
Macie Shirk (78–80—158, T-11), and
Bailey Barker (81–80—161, T-16).
Emily Vandall posted 88–87—175 to tie for 38th, while Brianna Andreas finished at 177 (T-43).
With Bussing's top-three finish and balanced scoring across the roster, SMWC showed depth in a competitive field.
The Pomeroys return to action September 2–3 at the Lawrence Tech Invitational in Boyne Falls, Mich., hosted at Boyne Mountain Resort's Alpine Course.
