SAINT MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. – Malachi Pearson has been named to the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Men's Basketball Team, recognizing his achievements both on the court and in the classroom.
Pearson, a key starter for the Pomeroys, played a crucial role in leading the team to a historic season. Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College captured the River States Conference regular-season and tournament championships and advanced through the NAIA First and Second Rounds to secure a berth in Kansas City. The Pomeroys finished with a 28-6 record, setting a program milestone for most wins in a single season.
On the court, Pearson delivered an impressive stat line, contributing significantly to the Pomeroys' success. He appeared in 33 games, starting 27, and averaged 12.4 minutes per game. He shot 43.7% from the field (45-103), 36.2% from three-point range (17-47), and 84.6% from the free-throw line (11-13). Pearson totaled 118 points, averaging 3.6 per game, while also recording 68 rebounds (2.1 per game), 31 assists, 22 turnovers, 18 steals, and 15 blocks.
The Academic All-District® program, selected by College Sports Communicators, honors student-athletes for their combined efforts in athletics and academics. The CSC Academic All-America® program recognizes honorees across four divisions, including NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program receives partial financial support through the NAIA governance structure.
