Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College freshman Elijah Williams (Indianapolis, Ind.) has been named the River States Conference Track Athlete of the Week, the league announced following his performance at the John Gartland Invitational on Friday, Dec. 12, hosted by Indiana State University.

Williams delivered a strong showing in the men's 800 meters, posting a time of 2:05.15 to place fourth in a competitive field of seven runners. The freshman also played a key role in the Pomeroys' 4x400-meter relay squad, helping the team record a time of 3:46.34 and a fourth-place finish against four competing teams.

The recognition marks Williams' first career weekly honor from the River States Conference and highlights his early impact during the indoor track and field season for Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College.
