DANIELS, W.Va. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's golf team stands in
third place after Monday's opening round of the
River States Conference Fall Preview, contested on the Cobb Course at Glade Springs in Daniels, W.Va.
The Pomeroys carded a team score of
331, placing just four strokes back of leader Midway (327) and two shots behind Indiana University East (329). SMWC holds a three-stroke cushion over Oakland City and IU Kokomo, who are tied for fourth at 334.
Individual Standouts
Senior
Bailey Barker led the Pomeroys with an
80, tying for fifth overall in the 48-player field. Junior
Renae Jaeger followed closely with an
83 to tie for 12th, while junior
Kristin Pagach and sophomore
Macie Shirk each posted rounds of
84 to sit in a tie for 15th. Junior
Brooklee Bussing added an
89 to round out the SMWC scoring in a tie for 27th.
Also competing for the Pomeroys, senior
Bri Andres shot
97 to tie for 36th, and freshman
Gabbie Blakeney finished at
101 to tie for 39th.
