UPLAND, Ind. – The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College men's cross country team battled strong regional competition Friday at the
Ray Bullock Invitational, hosted by Taylor University. The Pomeroys finished
10th overall in the men's 8K race.
Indiana Wesleyan won the meet with 32 points, followed closely by host Taylor (39) and Indianapolis (68). SMWC compiled
302 points with a combined team time of
2:32:00.3, averaging a
6:07 pace per runner.
Freshman
Nathan Odle paced the Pomeroys, placing
79th overall in
28:14.6 (5:41 pace). Fellow freshman
Jayden Hickenbotham was next across the line in 97th (29:27.1), followed by freshman
Elijah Williams in 104th (30:16.9). Freshman
Rudy Bowman took 111th (31:14.4), and sophomore
Jim Frye rounded out the scoring five in 116th (32:47.1). Sophomore
Ethan Dehamer also competed, finishing in 120th with a time of 34:01.2.
The Pomeroys will return to action on
Saturday, Oct. 25, at the
Great Lakes Challenge in Grand Rapids, Mich. The men's 8K race will begin at
10 a.m. (ET) at Riverside Park.
