The SMWC men's volleyball team takes a 5-1 record into the start of Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play tonight against Goshen.
The Pomeroys, just in their second season of competition, are looking to make a big improvement in the tough WHAC after going 0-18 last season in a league that features some of the top teams in the nation.

OFFENSIVE ATTACK
The Pomeroys bring a more potent and diverse attack this season.
Freshman Marko Zolnjan is 34th in the nation with a .293 hitting percentage in his six matches played. Bentley Meyer, who has played just the past three matches, would rank 19th with a .317 hitting percentage.
Zolnjan is 46th in the NAIA with 3.10 kills-per-set, while Meyer sits 28th at 3.33.
Yammiel Martinez is off to a solid start with 32 kills and a .426 hitting percentage, and sophomore setter Connor Orrock is also providing a force.
The Pomeroys hope to get back Manase Fetulimoeata as soon as this weekend with the chance to help provide another outside hitter option.

DEFENSE
Brycen Yadao, a transfer from Mount Mercy, has made a strong impact for SMWC, earning WHAC Defensive Player of the Week honors for his work in the back row.
Yadao is 8th in the NAIA with 3.32 digs per set.
