FULTON, Mo. — Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College men's soccer fell 4-0 to William Woods University on Saturday afternoon.
William Woods (2-1) took control early, scoring four times during the opening half. Moritz Schafer struck just 36 seconds into the match, finishing a pass from Sem Schoenmakers to give the Owls a 1-0 advantage.
Miles Andrews doubled the lead in the ninth minute off an assist from Charlie Williams. Andrews later assisted Francesco Dibra's goal in the 21st minute before Travis Luhning completed the scoring with a goal from Rodrigo Franco in the 41st minute.
SMWC (1-1-2) regrouped defensively at halftime and held William Woods scoreless throughout the final 45 minutes, but the Pomeroys were unable to overcome the first-half deficit.
