ELGIN, Ill. — Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College women's soccer suffered a 3-0 road loss to Judson University on Wednesday afternoon at Dawson Field.
Judson (2-0) opened the scoring in the ninth minute when Anika Elgin converted a pass from Ruby Hogan. Natasha Navarro doubled the Eagles' advantage with an unassisted goal in the 28th minute, sending SMWC into halftime facing a 2-0 deficit.
The Pomeroys (0-2) kept Judson off the scoreboard for most of the second half despite facing 14 shots. The Eagles added the final goal in the 88th minute when Seba Aboushaala scored off an assist from Amira El Mansouri.
Maliah Goins led the SMWC attack with two shots, including one on goal.

Lauren Craighead each added one shot.
SMWC finished with eight shots, placing three on goal. The Pomeroys attempted four shots in each half and earned three corner kicks. Judson recorded 29 shots, including 15 on goal, and held a 9-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Freshman goalkeeper
Priscilla Barajas played all 90 minutes and recorded 12 saves. Tilley, Kurtz and
LaNiceon Holman also went the full 90 minutes for the Pomeroys. The match was played without a caution or ejection.
SMWC returns to action Saturday with a 1 p.m. CT road match against William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri.
