ST. MARY-OF-THE-WOODS, Ind. — The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College men's volleyball team remained unbeaten Friday with a straight-set victory over Rochester Christian University, 25-13, 25-16, 25-16, inside the Jeanne Knoerle Sports and Recreation Center.
The Pomeroys improved to 4-0 on the season with the sweep, holding Rochester Christian to a negative hitting percentage across all three sets while posting a .213 attack percentage as a team.
Daniel Musa led the offensive effort with seven kills, while
Sutton Reed and
Jenu Ngialah each added six.
Chris-Samuel Basson orchestrated the attack with 14 assists and also contributed three service aces.
Francesco Tedeschi matched Basson with three aces, and Ngialah chipped in two from the service line as SMWC totaled 11 aces in the match.
Defensively, Reed posted a team-high three blocks, with
Charlie Harr and
Emmanuel Rubio recording two each at the net.
Maxim Beilmann anchored the back row with 10 digs, while Ngialah added seven.
SMWC controlled the match from start to finish, limiting Rochester Christian to just 12 total kills on 67 attack attempts while forcing 22 attack errors.
